Brand Origin and History

congstar is a prominent German mobile virtual network operator and internet service provider. The brand was established on July 17, 2007, by Deutsche Telekom AG to serve as a low-cost, digital-first subsidiary targeting younger and price-conscious consumers. Prior to its full launch, it originated from 'congster', an internet discount brand introduced around 2004 by Telekom subsidiary T-Online. congstar offers postpaid mobile contracts, prepaid SIM cards, home broadband, and mobile Wi-Fi routers (congstar Homespot).

Infrastructure and Service Delivery

As a mobile service provider rather than a physical manufacturer, congstar's services operate directly on Deutsche Telekom's mobile and fixed-line networks in Germany (D-Netz). The underlying SIM cards, packaging, and modems distributed with their contracts are sourced from various international hardware suppliers, but the telecommunications infrastructure, digital services, network operation, and customer support are operated within Germany.
