Banjo chocolate wafer bar

Banjo is a well-known chocolate confectionery brand historically associated with crispy wafer bars filled with roasted hazelnuts or peanuts and enrobed in milk chocolate. Popularized extensively throughout Europe and especially in the German-speaking markets from the 1970s onwards, Banjo established a dedicated consumer following under the confectionery portfolio of Mars.

The brand was developed by the global food giant Mars, Incorporated, originating in the United States and expanded across Europe through regional confectionery subsidiaries such as Mars GmbH in Germany. Over decades of production, Banjo bars found in European supermarkets have predominantly been produced at Mars manufacturing facilities located across Western Europe, particularly in Germany (such as Mars' plant in Viersen).

Today, Banjo remains part of the extensive international snack and confectionery portfolio of Mars, Incorporated, a privately held American multinational corporation headquartered in McLean, Virginia. Unrelated namesakes (such as musical instrument brands or independent Australian bakery items under the name Banjo's) share no corporate ties with the Mars chocolate brand.
