Hipólito Pressure Lantern

Hipólito pressure lanterns are classic pressurized kerosene (paraffin) vapor lanterns historically manufactured in Torres Vedras, Portugal, by Casa Hipólito (Hipólito S.A.). The company was one of Portugal's most prominent industrial metalware and pressure appliance manufacturers, renowned globally alongside brands such as Petromax and Geniol for durable outdoor lanterns and camping stoves.

Casa Hipólito operated from the early-to-mid 20th century until it ceased operations around the late 1990s or early 2000s due to bankruptcy. During its peak years, Casa Hipólito not only produced lanterns under its own Hipólito brand name (including models like the H-502 Automatic) but also manufactured components and complete lanterns under contract for other well-known European brands like Petromax. Today, these lanterns are highly valued vintage collector's items and historical outdoor equipment.
