Sleeman Beer

Sleeman is a historic Canadian brewing brand celebrated for its heritage recipes, distinct clear glass bottles, and deep brewing roots dating back to the 19th century.

The original Sleeman brewery was founded in 1834 by John H. Sleeman in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. While the business was shut down in the 1930s during prohibition-era difficulties, it was revived in 1988 by John W. Sleeman using original family recipe books. The brand quickly established itself as one of Canada's leading craft and premium brewers.

In 2006, Sleeman Breweries was acquired by Japanese brewing conglomerate Sapporo Breweries. Today, Sleeman remains headquartered and brewed primarily in Canada under Sleeman Breweries Ltd., which operates as a direct subsidiary of Sapporo Holdings. When found in international and specialty import markets, including the United Kingdom, it is imported directly from its Canadian facilities.
