HP Sauce Original Steak Sauce & Baste for Meat

HP Sauce is an iconic British brown sauce originally created by Frederick Gibson Garton, a grocer from Nottingham, in the late 19th century. The sauce was named "HP" after Garton heard that a restaurant in the Houses of Parliament was serving it, which also inspired the iconic depiction of the Palace of Westminster on the label.

Over the decades, the brand transitioned through several corporate owners, including the Midlands Vinegar Company and later Groupe Danone. In 2005, the brand was acquired by the H.J. Heinz Company. Production famously shifted from the historic factory in Aston, Birmingham, UK, to Heinz's manufacturing facilities in Elst, the Netherlands, where the brown sauce for European and international distribution, including Canadian bottles, is primarily produced.

Today, HP Sauce is owned by The Kraft Heinz Company, an American multinational food and beverage corporation headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In Canada, HP Sauce is distributed by Kraft Heinz Canada.
