While corporate management, engineering, and product development remain anchored in Wuppertal, Germany, the bulk of Wera's manufacturing operations was moved to Bystřice nad Pernštejnem in the Czech Republic, where the modern production plant produces bits, handles, and modular screwdriver systems.

In 2016, the German family-owned holding Bitburger Holding GmbH acquired Wera Werkzeuge through its investment branch, Bitburger Ventures (formerly Bitburger Braugruppe/Holding investment units).
