Remia is a leading Dutch brand specializing in a wide range of sauces, margarines, and fats. Founded in 1925 by Arie de Rooij in his garage in Amersfoort, the company initially started as a small-scale mixing plant for margarine. Over the decades, it expanded into the production of mayonnaise and various specialty sauces, becoming a staple in Dutch households and the foodservice industry.
Today, Remia operates out of a highly automated production facility in Den Dolder, Netherlands. It remains an independent family-owned business, which is a rare feat in the modern landscape of multinational food conglomerates. The brand is known for its innovation, such as the introduction of 'Fritessaus' in 1967, and it exports its products to over 100 countries worldwide.
