Primus is a legendary brand in the outdoor industry, established in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1892 by Frans Wilhelm Lindqvist and Johan Victor Svenson. The brand became famous for creating the world's first soot-free pressure stove. The OmniFuel is one of their most advanced products, designed to operate with a wide variety of fuels including gas, gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and even aviation fuel. While the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in Swedish engineering, manufacturing for their high-end stoves primarily takes place in their own factory in Estonia to ensure high quality and precision.

In 2023, the ownership of Primus underwent a significant change. Previously part of the Fenix Outdoor group, the brand was acquired by A&F Overseas AB, a subsidiary of the Swedish company Fenix Outdoor, and eventually integrated under the umbrella of Katadyn Group. Katadyn Group, a Swiss-based global leader in portable water treatment and outdoor nutrition, now serves as the ultimate owner, focusing on expanding the brand's reach in the survival and outdoor expedition markets.
