The Anchor brand was originally established by the Anchor Yeast company and has remained deep-rooted in South African culinary tradition for over a century. Today, the Anchor brand is owned by Lallemand Inc., a privately held Canadian company specializing in the development, production, and marketing of yeasts and bacteria. While the ultimate parent company is headquartered in Montreal, Canada, the production of Anchor vinegar remains concentrated in South African facilities to serve the local and regional markets through its subsidiary, Rymco (Pty) Ltd, trading as Anchor Yeast.
