Galbani Parmigiano Reggiano is a premium Italian cheese aged for over 30 months, holding the prestigious DOP (Denominazione di Origine Protetta) status. This certification ensures that the cheese is produced, processed, and prepared in a specific geographical area—primarily the provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Modena, and parts of Mantua and Bologna—using traditional methods and ingredients specified by law.

Founded in 1882 by Egidio Galbani, the brand has grown from a small family business into one of Italy's most recognized food names globally. In 2006, Galbani was acquired by the French dairy giant Lactalis (Groupe Lactalis). Today, while the manufacturing of Parmigiano Reggiano remains strictly tied to its specific protected region in Italy to maintain its DOP designation, the brand is managed under the extensive Lactalis portfolio, which is the world's largest dairy products corporation, headquartered in Laval, France. In Canada, Galbani products are often distributed through Lactalis Canada.
