Freia Kvikk Lunsj chocolate

Kvikk Lunsj is an iconic Norwegian chocolate bar, first launched in 1937 by the Norwegian chocolatier Freia. It is famously known as the 'hiking chocolate' in Norway, traditionally packed by hikers and skiers due to its association with the outdoors and the Norwegian trekking culture.

Historically, Freia was a family-owned Norwegian company founded by Johan Throne Holst. In 1993, the company was acquired by Kraft Foods, which later became Mondelēz International. Today, Mondelēz International, a massive American multi-national conglomerate, remains the ultimate owner of the brand. Despite this international ownership, Kvikk Lunsj is still primarily produced in the Freia factory located in Rodeløkka, Oslo, Norway, maintaining its authentic local roots and production standards.
