Eltax is a renowned Danish brand with a history dating back to 1959. Founded by Ingemann Marius Nielsen in Herning, Denmark, the company established itself as a pioneer in the Hi-Fi industry, particularly recognized for its philosophy of providing high-quality sound performance and elegant Scandinavian design at an accessible price point.

While the brand maintains its deep Danish heritage in design and engineering, its business operations evolved significantly over the decades. In the late 2000s, Eltax was acquired by the French group AV Industry (the parent company that also owns brands like Elipson and Tangent Audio). This acquisition integrated Eltax into a larger European audio conglomerate, moving its strategic and administrative headquarters to France.

Today, while the acoustic engineering often draws from its Danish roots, manufacturing typically takes place in multiple locations globally, including specialized facilities in Asia and Europe, to maintain the brand's competitive 'value-for-money' positioning in the global market.
