Madshus is one of the oldest ski manufacturers in the world, founded in 1906 by Martin Madshus in Norway. The brand is deeply rooted in the Nordic skiing tradition, maintaining a significant production facility in Biri, Norway, where high-end performance and racing skis are handcrafted using advanced composite materials.

Over the decades, the company has transitioned from traditional wood craftsmanship to modern fiberglass and carbon fiber technology. While the premium racing line remains a staple of Norwegian manufacturing, some entry-level and mid-range equipment, including certain boots and poles, are sourced from specialized manufacturers in China to maintain global competitiveness.

Today, Madshus is a key brand within the portfolio of K2 Sports, which was acquired by Elevate Outdoor Collective. This ownership structure places the brand under a global umbrella of outdoor sports equipment, while keeping its operational and research heart in Norway.
