Mr Kipling Cakes and Pies

Mr Kipling is an iconic British brand of cakes, pies, and baked goods, famed across the United Kingdom for its tagline 'exceedingly good cakes'. The brand was created in May 1967 by Rank Hovis McDougall (RHM) to introduce high-quality packaged cakes into modern British supermarkets, inventing the fictional persona of 'Mr Kipling' to represent traditional home-baking craftsmanship.

Throughout the decades, Mr Kipling became a staple of British tea tables, famous for classics like French Fancies, Bakewell Tarts, Angel Slices, and seasonal mince pies. In 2007, RHM was acquired by Premier Foods, which continues to own and manage the brand.

Manufacturing takes place predominantly within the United Kingdom, with its primary large-scale bakery located in Carlton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire (often recognized as one of the largest cake bakeries in Europe). Premier Foods has expanded international distribution to Australia, North America, and other global regions, occasionally leveraging local manufacturing agreements for overseas markets.
