Panasonic televisions are part of a storied legacy of Japanese consumer electronics innovation. Founded in 1918 by Konosuke Matsushita as Matsushita Electric Housewares Manufacturing Works in Osaka, Japan, the company introduced the Panasonic brand name in 1955 for export audio equipment, later standardizing all operations under Panasonic Corporation.

Panasonic was a pioneer in television technology, famously driving advancements in CRT, Plasma (VIERA), and modern OLED displays. Today, Panasonic Holdings Corporation remains the ultimate owner of the brand. While high-end engineering and design continue to be guided by Panasonic in Japan, television assembly and manufacturing are distributed globally. Panasonic partners with major original design manufacturers (ODMs) such as Skyworth and TCL for assembly across facilities in China, Poland, and other regional hubs supplying European markets, including Sweden.
