Alesto is a private-label brand created by the German discount supermarket chain Lidl, which is owned by the Schwarz Group (Schwarz Gruppe). Under the Alesto brand name, Lidl sells a wide assortment of nuts, seeds, and dried fruits across Europe, including the United Kingdom and Spain.

Because Alesto operates as a retailer private brand, production and packaging are contracted out to specialized agricultural suppliers and packaging facilities worldwide. The raw dates are primarily harvested in countries such as Tunisia, Algeria, or Israel, and are packaged across various supplier facilities in Europe.

Lidl is part of the Schwarz Group, a family-owned multinational retail group based in Neckarsulm, Germany, which also owns the Kaufland hypermarket chain.
