Brand History and Origin

Ryobi was founded in 1943 in Hiroshima, Japan, as Ryobi Seisakusho Co., Ltd., initially manufacturing die-cast metal products before later expanding into printing equipment, builders' hardware, and electric power tools.

Ownership and License Structure

While Ryobi Limited remains an independent Japanese industrial corporation, its power tools and outdoor power equipment business outside of Japan was sold to and licensed by Techtronic Industries Co. Ltd. (TTI), a major multinational power tools conglomerate based in Hong Kong. TTI designs, manufactures, and distributes Ryobi brand power tools and garden equipment across Europe, North America, and Australia.

Manufacturing and Local Distribution

The vast majority of Ryobi outdoor and power tools marketed in Denmark and Europe are manufactured in modern industrial facilities in mainland China and Vietnam owned by Techtronic Industries. In Denmark, Ryobi products are distributed via Techtronic Industries Nordic ApS.
