Varta AAA Alkaline Batteries

Varta is a historic German technological brand with a legacy dating back to the late 19th century. Founded in 1887 by Adolf Müller as Büsche & Müller, the company eventually adopted the name Varta in 1904. The brand is renowned for its high-quality standards, and many of its alkaline batteries, particularly the Longlife and Performance ranges, are still manufactured at its facility in Ellwangen, Germany, maintaining a strong 'Made in Germany' pedigree.

The brand's history is marked by a complex division of segments. While industrial and micro-batteries are handled by VARTA AG in Germany, the consumer battery business (shown in the image) became part of the American conglomerate Energizer Holdings, Inc. following a series of acquisitions involving Spectrum Brands. This means that while the brand retains its German engineering identity and significant local manufacturing presence, it is ultimately owned by a US-based global leader in power solutions.
