Ringwood Brewery Fortyniner Premium Ale

Ringwood Brewery was founded in 1978 by Peter Austin in the town of Ringwood, Hampshire, England. Peter Austin is often referred to as the 'father of British micro-brewing' for his role in reviving the craft beer movement in the UK. The Fortyniner is one of the brewery's staple beers, named after the 1849 Gold Rush and originally brewed to a strength of 4.9% ABV.

In 2007, the brewery was acquired by Marston's PLC, a major player in the British pub and brewing industry. However, in a significant shift for the British beer landscape, Marston's sold its brewing operations to an international joint venture between Carlsberg and Marston's called Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) in 2020. In 2023, CMBC announced the closure of the original Ringwood site, consolidating the production of its core brands to other breweries within the CMBC network to improve efficiency, meaning the beer is currently manufactured at other facilities within the United Kingdom under the ownership of the Danish multinational, Carlsberg Group.
