Humboldt Forum and Berlin Cathedral

The image features the Humboldt Forum (the reconstructed Berlin Palace) in the foreground and the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) in the background. The Humboldt Forum is a major museum and cultural complex located on Museum Island in the historic center of Berlin. The original palace was the principal residence of the House of Hohenzollern but was demolished after World War II. Its reconstruction, which combines historic Baroque facades with modern architectural elements, was completed in 2020.

The project was largely funded by the German federal government and various private donations. As a state-owned cultural institution, it is managed by the Stiftung Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss (Humboldt Forum Foundation in the Berlin Palace), which operates under the authority of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media.
