Italian National Flag (Tricolore)

The Italian National Flag, known as the Il Tricolore, consists of three equal vertical bands of green, white, and red. While the flags used in official state ceremonies like the one pictured at the Coliseum in Rome are typically manufactured by specialized textile companies within Italy, the mass production of Italian flags for commercial use happens globally, particularly in China and other textile-heavy nations.

The design of the flag dates back to the late 18th century, influenced by the French Revolution, and was officially adopted by the Italian Republic in 1946 after the end of World War II. It represents the sovereignty of the Italian state rather than a commercial brand. There is no single 'ultimate owner' of the flag design as it is a public national symbol protected under Italian law.
