Çaykur Altınbaş is a premium black tea produced by the Turkish state-owned tea company, Çaykur. The brand was established in the mid-20th century as part of the Turkish government's efforts to develop the domestic tea industry in the Rize region.

This specific product is harvested exclusively from the upper leaves of tea plants in Turkey's Eastern Black Sea Region, which is renowned for its favorable climate and soil conditions for tea cultivation. The product is manufactured and packaged directly in Rize, Turkey.

Ownership of the brand remains with the General Directorate of Tea Enterprises (Çaykur), which is a state-owned enterprise in Turkey. It is the largest tea producer in the country and is currently under the management of the Turkey Wealth Fund, the national sovereign wealth fund of the Republic of Turkey.
