Harrap's Russe Méthode Express is a language learning kit designed for French speakers to learn Russian through a '15 minutes per day' methodology. The product typically includes a textbook and audio CDs or digital MP3 access, covering levels from absolute beginner to the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
The brand Harrap's has a storied history, having been founded in London in 1901 by George Godfrey Harrap. Originally specialized in educational books and high-quality bilingual dictionaries (most notably the Harrap's Standard), the brand became synonymous with linguistic authority. Over the late 20th century, the brand underwent several ownership changes, eventually becoming part of the Chambers Harrap group. In 2002, the publishing assets were acquired by the French media giant Lagardère Group.
Today, Harrap's is managed as an imprint of Éditions Larousse, a subsidiary of Hachette Livre, which is the publishing division of Lagardère. While the brand originated in the United Kingdom, its modern language methods, including the 'Méthode Express' series, are primarily developed, published, and printed in France to serve the Francophone market.
