La Sportiva is a world-renowned manufacturer of technical footwear and apparel specifically designed for mountain-based sports such as climbing, mountaineering, and trail running. Founded in 1928 by Narciso Delladio in the heart of the Italian Dolomites, the brand began as a small workshop crafting leather boots for local lumberjacks and farmers. Over the decades, it evolved through the innovation of mountain boots for soldiers during World War II and the introduction of specialized climbing shoes in the 1980s.

Today, La Sportiva remains a family-owned enterprise, with headquarters and its main production facility still located in Ziano di Fiemme, Italy.
