Wolf Tooth Components is a prominent American manufacturer of precision cycling parts and accessories, founded in 2013 by three mechanical engineers—Mike Pfeiffer, Brendan Moore, and Dan Dittmer. The company began as a moonlight operation in a basement in Minneapolis, Minnesota, fueled by a desire to create a high-performance single chainring (1x) setup that solved common chain-drop issues. This innovation led to the patented Drop-Stop tooth profile, which catapulted the brand to international recognition among mountain bikers and gravel riders.

Today, Wolf Tooth is headquartered in a 38,000-square-foot facility in Burnsville, Minnesota. The brand is deeply committed to domestic manufacturing; approximately 80% of its products are machined and assembled in-house at their Minnesota shop or through local partners. This internal production cycle includes everything from initial engineering and prototyping to final shipping. However, for specific high-volume or specialized products like certain dropper posts, some components are sourced from overseas (such as China) but are still designed and assembled in the USA to maintain strict quality control.

The brand remains independently owned by its original founders. In addition to its core component line, the company expanded in 2016 to include Otso Cycles, a sibling brand focused on versatile bicycle frames, and Lithic, a brand for specialized rims and forks. Wolf Tooth is also a vocal advocate for the 'Right to Repair,' offering individual replacement parts for nearly every component they sell to ensure product longevity and sustainability.
