Galle & Jessen is a legendary Danish confectionery brand with a history dating back to 1872. Founded by Edvard Galle and Hans Jessen in a small cellar in Copenhagen, the company grew to become one of Denmark's most iconic sweet producers. The brand is particularly famous for its 'pålægschokolade' (thin chocolate slices for bread), as well as popular treats like Ga-Jol pastilles and Spunk licorice.

Since 1971, the brand has been owned by Toms International (Toms Gruppen), Denmark's leading confectionery manufacturer. While the original large-scale factory at Vibenhus Runddel in Copenhagen was demolished in the late 1990s, the brand remains a staple of Danish culture. Production today is integrated into Toms' modern manufacturing facilities, primarily located in Denmark, ensuring the continued legacy of these traditional Danish treats.
