Drum Blond tobacco

Drum is a globally recognized brand of fine-cut handrolling tobacco, historically associated with the Dutch 'shag' tradition. The 'Blond' (or Bright/Gold) variant is a lighter alternative to the brand's iconic Halfzware Shag, typically featuring a blend of bright Virginia and Burley tobaccos for a milder, more aromatic smoking experience.

Originally launched in 1952 by the Dutch company Douwe Egberts, the brand became a staple of European tobacco culture. In 1998, following a series of corporate acquisitions involving the Sara Lee Corporation, the British multinational Imperial Brands (formerly Imperial Tobacco) took over the ownership and international distribution of the brand. Today, while the Dutch heritage remains central to the brand's identity, manufacturing takes place across various Imperial Brands facilities, most notably in the Netherlands. In certain markets like the United States, the brand name is licensed to or involves different corporate entities like Republic Tobacco, though the core brand remains part of the Imperial portfolio worldwide.
