Bryston is a renowned Canadian manufacturer of high-end audio electronics, including amplifiers, preamplifiers, and digital-to-analog converters. Founded in 1962, the company originally specialized in medical blood analysis equipment before shifting its focus to professional and consumer audio in the late 1960s and 1970s.
In early 2021, Bryston underwent a significant change in ownership when it was acquired by a partnership led by James Tanner (long-time VP of Sales and now CEO) and Ian Colquhoun, the founder of Axiom Audio. Following this acquisition, the company moved much of its manufacturing operations from Peterborough to Axiom's larger facility in Dwight, Ontario. Despite these corporate changes, Bryston maintains its reputation for artisan craftsmanship, with products continuing to be handcrafted in Canada and backed by an industry-leading 20-year warranty on analog components.
