Gritzner is a German brand with a rich history in sewing machine manufacturing. Founded in 1872 by Max Carl Gritzner in Durlach, Germany, the company became one of Europe's largest sewing machine manufacturers by the early 20th century. In 1940, Gritzner merged with Pfalzische to form Gritzner-Kayser AG. In 1957, Gritzner-Kayser was acquired by Pfaff, which later merged its manufacturing with its own. The Gritzner 788 Overlock Machine is a modern sewing machine produced under the Gritzner brand. The brand is currently owned by Bernina International AG, a Swiss company specializing in sewing and embroidery systems. The Gritzner 788 is manufactured in multiple countries, reflecting the global nature of Bernina's production facilities. The machine offers features such as automatic needle threading, a free arm, and 4- and 3-thread overlock options, catering to both beginners and experienced sewists.
