Brand Origin and History

Vivera is a pioneering Dutch plant-based food company founded in 1990 in Holten, the Netherlands. Originally established under the name Enkco, the company shifted its focus from conventional meat processing to vegetarian and vegan meat alternatives, becoming one of the earliest large-scale producers of meat substitutes in Europe.

Manufacturing

Vivera develops and manufactures its plant-based products primarily at its dedicated, state-of-the-art production facilities in Holten, Overijssel, Netherlands.

Ownership

In May 2021, Vivera was acquired by JBS S.A., the world's largest meat processing company based in São Paulo, Brazil. Vivera operates within JBS's plant-based protein portfolio while maintaining its operational base and production hub in the Netherlands.
