Mares Scuba & Snorkeling Equipment

Mares is an iconic brand of scuba diving, freediving, and snorkeling equipment established in Rapallo, Italy, in 1949 by diver Ludovico Mares. Widely distributed across watersports hubs, dive shops, and maritime retail centers throughout Greece, Mares is celebrated for pioneering innovations in diving masks, fins, regulators, and dive computers.

Today, Mares is part of Head Sport GmbH (the HEAD Group), an international sporting goods conglomerate headquartered in Kennelbach, Austria (with parent holdings historically linked to the Netherlands). Production takes place primarily at specialized facilities in Italy, alongside international manufacturing partners.

Note that while 'Mares' can also refer colloquially to female horses or unrelated regional family brands, in the Greek consumer goods and retail market, Mares unambiguously denotes the world-renowned Italian watersports and diving equipment manufacturer.
