Märkisch Kristall is a traditional German regional mineral water brand deeply rooted in Brandenburg. Bottled directly from deep underground springs in the region (traditionally linked to locations such as Bad Saarow and Rheinsberg depending on the spring line), it has long been known as a staple table and office beverage across Brandenburg and the Berlin metropolitan area.

Manufacturing and Sourcing

All Märkisch Kristall mineral water is drawn and bottled in Brandenburg, Germany. The water is sourced from protected underground reservoirs and bottled according to strict German mineral water legislation (Mineral- und Tafelwasser-Verordnung), packaged in returnable standard glass bottles (Normbrunnenflasche or Perlenflasche) as well as PET formats.

Ownership Structure

The brand has a rich bottling history within eastern Germany and became part of the Vivaris Getränke portfolio (the beverage division of the Haselünne-based Berentzen-Gruppe AG). Through its subsidiary Vivaris Getränke GmbH & Co. KG, Berentzen manages the Märkisch Kristall brand and its bottling operations in northern and eastern Germany, maintaining Berentzen-Gruppe AG as the ultimate owner.
