While the brand was created in Romania to offer affordable consumer electronics and major appliances (such as televisions, air conditioners, and refrigeration units), manufacturing of Vortex hardware is outsourced to OEM factories, predominantly located in China.

Other unrelated entities worldwide also use the name 'Vortex' (for instance, Vortex Optics in the United States, specializing in precision scopes and binoculars), but the Romanian home appliance brand is an exclusive in-house brand of the Altex / Media Galaxy retail group.
