Galaxus is Switzerland's leading online department store, operated by Digitec Galaxus AG. Founded in 2001 by Oliver Herren, Florian Teuteberg, and Marcel Dobler, the company initially gained massive success in the Swiss market under the Digitec brand before launching the broader Galaxus department store concept in 2012.

In 2015, the Swiss retail and wholesale giant Migros-Genossenschafts-Bund acquired a majority stake in Digitec Galaxus AG.
