Vilebrequin Swimwear and Apparel

Vilebrequin is a French luxury brand renowned worldwide for its high-end swimwear, resort wear, and beach accessories. The label was founded in Saint-Tropez in 1971 by Fred Prysquel, an automobile journalist, and his partner Yvette. Inspired by the vibrant coastal scene and surfing culture of the era, Prysquel designed original, fast-drying swim shorts cut from spinnaker cloth, naming the brand 'Vilebrequin'—the French word for crankshaft—in homage to his automotive passion.

Over the decades, Vilebrequin evolved from a chic Côte d'Azur boutique into an international luxury lifestyle brand. In 2012, Vilebrequin was acquired by G-III Apparel Group, Ltd., a major American apparel and fashion licensing company based in New York City. G-III owns, manages, and licenses a vast portfolio of fashion brands including Donna Karan, DKNY, and Karl Lagerfeld.

Vilebrequin manufactures its luxury collections across multiple countries, sourcing premium materials primarily from European producers (such as Italy and France) alongside specialized textile factories across Europe, North Africa, and Asia, adhering to strict luxury standards.
