Sony PlayStation 4 Pro gaming console

The Sony PlayStation 4 (PS4 Pro model shown) is an eighth-generation home video game console developed and marketed by Sony Interactive Entertainment, a division of the Japanese multinational conglomerate Sony Group Corporation.

First released in November 2013, with the enhanced 4K-capable PS4 Pro launching in November 2016, the PlayStation line originated in Japan under Sony Computer Entertainment. The hardware is primarily assembled in China and Japan by contract manufacturers such as Foxconn and Sony's own automated manufacturing facilities in Kisarazu, Japan.

Today, the PlayStation brand remains wholly owned by Tokyo-based Sony Group Corporation, distributed across Europe and Italy via Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe.
