KIND bars are a popular line of healthy snack bars originally launched in 2004 by Daniel Lubetzky. The brand was founded on the principle of using whole, recognizable ingredients like nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, marketed under a 'KIND' philosophy of social impact and transparency. Originally operating under Kind LLC (KIND Healthy Snacks), the brand revolutionized the snack aisle by moving away from highly processed meal replacements toward nutrition-dense, whole-food snacks.

Over the years, KIND expanded its product portfolio to include granola, breakfast bars, and refrigerated snacks. The manufacturing processes primarily take place in the United States, utilizing various regional facilities to maintain supply chains for its global distribution. While it started as an independent venture, its rapid success led to significant corporate interest.

In 2017, the global confectionery and food giant Mars, Incorporated took a minority stake in the company to help with international distribution. By November 2020, Mars acquired the remaining stake of KIND North America, fully integrating it into its portfolio while keeping the founder involved in the brand's strategic direction. As of 2024 and beyond, KIND remains a cornerstone of the Mars snack division, maintaining its headquarters in New York while operating under the global ownership of the Virginia-based parent company.
