Ichnusa is a historic Italian beer brand deeply rooted in the culture of Sardinia. Founded in 1912 by Amsicora Capra in Cagliari, the brand takes its name from the ancient Greek name for the island of Sardinia (Hyknusa). The label features the iconic 'Four Moors' (Quattro Mori), which is also the symbol of the Sardinian flag, reinforcing its identity as the 'Soul of Sardinia' (Anima Sarda).

Production remains concentrated at the Birra Ichnusa brewery located in Assemini, near Cagliari, ensuring the product maintains its local heritage. Despite its strong regional identity, the brand transitioned to global ownership in 1986 when it was acquired by the Dutch brewing giant Heineken N.V. Today, Ichnusa is a flagship brand within Heineken's Italian portfolio, enjoying both massive local loyalty and growing international distribution as a premium Italian lager.
