Listerine Total Care Intense Mouthwash

Listerine is a globally recognized brand of antiseptic mouthwash. It was originally formulated by Joseph Lawrence and Jordan Wheat Lambert in 1879 in the United States, named after Joseph Lister, a pioneer in antiseptic surgery. The brand was historically owned by the Lambert Pharmacal Company, which later became Warner-Lambert before being acquired by Johnson & Johnson in 2006.

In early 2023, Johnson & Johnson spun off its consumer health division into a separate, independent company called Kenvue. As part of this transition, Listerine is now under the ultimate ownership of Kenvue. While the brand has American roots, manufacturing takes place in multiple locations globally, including Germany (as indicated by the address for Kenue Germany GmbH on the label) and Italy, to serve regional markets such as the UK and Europe.
