Brand Origin and History

Copacol (Cooperativa Agroindustrial Consolata) is a major Brazilian agricultural cooperative founded in 1963 in the state of Paraná. It originally started as a power cooperative to bring electricity to rural areas before pivoting to agricultural production and processing. Over the decades, it has become one of Brazil's leading names in the poultry and fish processing industries.

Manufacturing and Logistics

As a cooperative, Copacol’s production is vertically integrated. The manufacturing and processing take place primarily within the state of Paraná, Brazil, where its members raise poultry, swine, and tilapia. The cooperative operates its own slaughterhouses and processing centers, ensuring control from the farm to the final packaging. Their products are exported to over 70 countries worldwide.

Ownership Structure

Copacol is not owned by a single individual or a public corporation but is a cooperative owned by its thousands of farmer-members. This means the profits and decision-making power rest with the producers themselves. It remains an independent Brazilian cooperative based in Cafelândia, Paraná, and does not have a separate corporate parent company.
