The Giorgio brand, primarily known for its mushrooms, is a storied name in the American agriculture and food processing industry. It was established in 1928 by Pietro and Elvira Giorgi, who emigrated from Italy and built their first mushroom growing house in Temple, Pennsylvania. Over the decades, the family-run enterprise expanded from a local farm into one of the largest mushroom growers and processors in the world.

Today, the brand operates under the umbrella of The Giorgi Companies, Inc. (TGCI) and its parent organization, Giorgi Global Holdings. The company remains 100% family-owned, currently led by the third and fourth generations of the Giorgi family. Its operations are highly vertically integrated; the company not only grows and packs fresh mushrooms through Giorgio Fresh Co. but also processes canned and jarred mushrooms through Giorgio Foods, Inc., and even manufactures its own packaging via sister companies like Can Corporation of America and CANPACK. While the brand carries the Italian heritage of its founders, the products are grown and processed in the United States, particularly centered in the 'Mushroom Capital of the World' area of Pennsylvania.
