Cif Ocean Fresh Floor Cleaner

Cif is a globally recognised household cleaning brand that was first introduced in France in 1969. Originally launched as a revolutionary liquid cream cleaner to compete with abrasive scouring powders, it has since expanded into a vast range of products including sprays, wipes, and specialised floor cleaners like the 'Ocean Fresh' variant shown.

The brand has a unique international history; for decades, it was known as 'Jif' in many English-speaking markets including the United Kingdom and Ireland. In 2001, Unilever undertook a massive brand harmonisation campaign, renaming the product to 'Cif' across most of Europe to align marketing efforts and manufacturing logistics. Despite this change, it remains under the same ownership and continues to be one of the flagship brands in the Home Care division for its parent company.

Today, Cif products are manufactured in multiple facilities worldwide to support regional markets. For the UK and Irish markets, production often takes place in various European plants, including major Unilever facilities in countries like the United Kingdom and Italy. The brand is currently owned by the British multinational Unilever PLC, which oversees its distribution in over 60 countries under various regional names like Viss in Germany and Vim in Canada.
