Delphi, a historic pillar of the automotive industry, has undergone significant corporate structural changes over the last decade. Originally established as a division of General Motors (GM) known as the Automotive Components Group, it was spun off as an independent entity in 1999. In 2017, the company split into two separate publicly traded firms: Aptiv, which focused on autonomous driving and electronics, and Delphi Technologies, which retained the powertrain and aftermarket business.

By 2020, Delphi Technologies was acquired by BorgWarner Inc. However, in July 2023, the brand underwent a further transformation when BorgWarner spun off its fuel systems and aftermarket segments into a new independent company named PHINIA Inc. As of 2026, Delphi continues to operate as a premier market brand under PHINIA, specializing in high-performance aftermarket solutions, electronics, and steering systems. Manufacturing is conducted across a global network of over 40 locations in 20 countries, including major facilities in North America, Europe, and Asia, ensuring broad market availability and logistical efficiency.
