Brinta, which stands for 'Breakfast Instant Tarwe' (Wheat), is a iconic Dutch breakfast brand originally developed in 1944. It was created by Frederik J.G. van den Bosch at the Wolvega potato starch factory during the Second World War as a nutritious porridge made from whole wheat. Since its launch, it has become a staple in Dutch households, often consumed as a warm porridge mixed with milk. Throughout the decades, the brand has maintained its identity as a healthy, energy-providing meal for all ages. Ownership of the brand has transitioned through several major food conglomerates. For many years, it was a part of the H.J. Heinz portfolio. Following the global merger of Heinz and Kraft, the brand transitioned to the Kraft Heinz Company. Today, it remains a dominant player in the Benelux cereal market, maintaining its traditional production roots in the Netherlands while benefiting from the global distribution and marketing infrastructure of its American parent company.
