Goldähren is a private label brand used by the German discount supermarket chain ALDI (both ALDI Nord and ALDI Süd). This specific American Sandwich wheat bread is produced for ALDI by Lieken Brot- und Backwaren GmbH, one of Germany's leading industrial bakeries.

Lieken, originally founded in 1922 by Fritz Lieken, has a long history in the German bakery market, famously known for its brands Golden Toast and Lieken Urkorn. Since 2013, Lieken has been owned by the Agrofert Group, a large Czech conglomerate founded by Andrej Babiš.
