Founded in the 1990s based on research from Lund University, it has grown from a niche health product to a global household name. The 'Bio Barista' version is specifically formulated to foam like traditional dairy milk for coffee applications while using organic ingredients.

While the brand maintains its headquarters and deep roots in Sweden, its manufacturing has expanded significantly to keep up with global demand. Production now occurs in multiple facilities across Europe (including Sweden, the Netherlands, and Germany), as well as in the United States and Asia. This helps the company reduce its transportation emissions by producing closer to the end-market.
