Tempo Original handkerchiefs

Tempo is an iconic German brand of paper handkerchiefs, founded in 1929 by the Vereinigte Papierwerke AG in Nuremberg. For decades, the brand name has been used as a synonym for paper tissues in German-speaking countries. Originally a German invention, the brand has seen multiple ownership changes over the years. It was acquired by the American company Procter & Gamble in 1994, which later sold it to the Swedish hygiene and health company SCA in 2007.

In 2017, SCA spun off its hygiene unit into Essity, which is currently the ultimate parent company. While the brand has deep German roots and maintains significant production facilities in Neuss, Germany, manufacturing also occurs in other European locations to serve international markets. Essity continues to develop the brand as a market leader in the hygiene sector across Europe.
