In 2014, United Biscuits (the parent company of McVitie's) was acquired by the global snacking giant pladis, which is a subsidiary of the Turkish multinational Yıldız Holding. This acquisition brought together iconic brands such as Godiva, United Biscuits, Ulker, and DeMet’s Candy Company under one global umbrella, headquartered in London to oversee operations across the world.
