Diplomático Reserva Exclusiva is a premium dark sipping rum crafted in Venezuela. The brand's history is deeply rooted in the Destilerías Unidas S.A. (DUSA) facility at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The rum is famously distilled using a variety of methods, including copper pot stills and column stills, then aged in small oak casks. The distinctive image on the label is Don Juancho Nieto Meléndez, a local nobleman known for his extensive collection of exotic spirits and his passion for the craft of rum making.

In early 2023, Brown-Forman Corporation, a major American spirits company, completed the acquisition of the Diplomático Rum brand and its associated assets from Destilerías Unidas. This move integrated the Venezuelan brand into a global portfolio that includes Jack Daniel’s. Despite the change in ownership, the production remains centralized in Venezuela to preserve the product's geographical designation and traditional quality standards.
