Cacolac is an iconic French beverage brand best known for its sterilized chocolate milk drink. Founded in 1954 in Bordeaux by the Maviel and Lanneluc families, the product quickly became a staple in French culture, particularly associated with athletes and children. The recipe is simple, consisting of fresh milk from the Lot-et-Garonne region, sugar, and cocoa, processed without preservatives.

While the company faced several ownership changes over the years—including acquisition by specialized investment funds like Turenne Capital and Avenir Entreprises in 2011—the Maviel family regained control of the company in 2015. Today, Cacolac remains an independent French family business, continuing its production at its historic site in Léognan, near Bordeaux, ensuring the product maintains its authentic French heritage and regional ingredients.
